Demon Hunters: Back from the Dead – Page 7
I don’t think that orange dude’s totally into it…
Last night was our first Game Night with the Dead Gentlemen with a special Patreon Guest! Superfan Chris Piazzo, owner of an actual, carved into his flesh, Brotherhood tattoo, joined us, and swiftly left us, as the unusually perceptive video store clerk, Twitch. He will be missed. Chris, you’re awesome. After a brief, YouTube inflicted delay, the game went off with a minimal number of hitches. A lot better than last month’s session, in number of technical problems, audience participation, and overall story. Anybody else watch it? What did you think? Let us know, and we’ll take it to heart for next month’s game!
The demonic trio turn at the noise. FLOATY DEMON is a glistening ball of wet, pulsating flesh, ringed with grasping arms and snarling, shark-toothed mouths. It hovers in midair near head-height. CRAWLY DEMON is tall, bone white, and insanely thin. It squats, permanently hunched over, on its six, narrow, spidery legs. It has no eyes, but all of the teeth, and creepy praying mantis arms. RAALF is a morbidly obese, orange, oddly friendly-looking humanoid with ram horns and elephantine feet. A twin row of small, stegosaurus-style bony plates jut through the skin of his back, and the fabric of his coveralls. He looks out of place with these other two. Floaty and Crawly are spattered with blood. They look vicious, feral, and infuriated by Gabriel's presence. Raalf is off to the side, not participating. He's looking worried. He's clearly running with the wrong crowd and in over his head.
CRAWLY: More Meat!
FLOATY: Fresh meat!
RAALF: Uh, yeah. Sure guys. Meat. Yaay, meat!
PANEL 2
Gabriel pleads with Jim without taking his eyes off the demons. Jim turns and walks away.
GABRIEL: Jim? Jim, get us out of here!
SILENT JIM: No. Fight.
GABRIEL: Fight?!
SILENT JIM: Or die. Your choice.
Well, Raalph seems nice enough, for a bloodthirsty demon.
I hope you hit that 1K a month soon. One strip a week is going to take a long time to tell a story.
I’m sure we will soon enough. The best way to make sure we do is to spread the word to your friends. Even a monthly pledge of pocket change adds up with a growing reader base.
In the meantime, though, this gives me a chance to get ready for a two-page schedule. So while I’d love to hit that milestone, I’m utilizing the time I’ve got.
Okay, on the previous page I mentioned how I loved the floating krang demon.. Up close… not so much XD Also like “raalf”, almost feel sorry for him.
I wanted to watch the game session, but I live on European time, so it’s kinda difficult with work and life in general. Still waiting for Jim to patent Time Traveling, then I might have a chance XD
They post the game Session on YouTube after they’re done. You can see both of them any time you want though the guys do need to do something to make sure people can actually find them. I can but it usually takes a little doing. When I look on the DG YouTube page they don’t usually show up as the most recent video.
Well, I’ve seen every session yes, but it would be awesome to cipher-up ^^
Don’t fall in love with Raalf just yet. Demons come in all shapes and sizes except “trustworthy.” He could be some kind of depression, or indifference demon.
This page simply looks great!
Although, I suspect that the first panel includes a lot of Ghostbuster reference that I don’t get, because I’ve never seen that movie…
Glad you like it! First of all, outside of the floaty guy looking a bit Slimer-y, it really doesn’t have any Ghostbusters references. Second of all, WHAT!?! This will not stand! Go! Stop what you’re doing and go watch Ghostbusters RIGHT NOW! You’re welcome in advance.
Every single page fills me with joy!
I’m such a big fan and I am enjoying the comic so much. (Even though that it’s far from done)
I was also considering if I should buy the DHRPG?… Well, anyway.
Keep up the GREAT work, guys!
If you want to buy it, you should buy it now. Supplies are running low.
Or you wait until the kickstarter campaign for the reboot.
The Kickstarter Campaign is going strong at the moment:
